State police say a man from Ansonia was arrested for driving the wrong way on I-95 in Bridgeport this morning.
They say troopers observed a car driving in the wrong direction just after 2 a.m. near Exit 27A, while almost striking multiple vehicles.
Troopers were able to stop the car and say the driver, Benjamin Mitchell, appeared to have difficulty forming responses to simple questions. They also say his speech was slightly slurred.
Mitchell told authorities that he missed his exit and did a U-turn on the highway in order to get back to the exit he wanted to take, police say.
Mitchel was charged with operating under the influence, driving the wrong way and reckless endangerment.
