State officials are heading to northwest Connecticut Tuesday to assess the damage left behind by the holiday weekend storms.
Gov. Ned Lamont and U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes are expected to tour storm damage in Harwinton and Torrington.
Harwinton remains under a state of emergency as recovery efforts continue.
North Road remains closed while crews use heavy equipment in Lead Mine Brook to remove fallen trees and branches.
Municipal buildings in Harwinton are also closed.
Downed trees and large branches continue to block roads throughout the town, making it difficult for crews to reach some of the hardest-hit areas.
About 16% of Eversource customers in the area are still without power.
Crews have been working around the clock along Lead Mine Brook Road, one of the locations most heavily damaged by the storm.
