Bridgeport Public Schools launch 'Show Up & Power Up' campaign
As the school year comes to a close in Bridgeport this week, keeping kids focused in the classroom can be a tall order.
Bridgeport Public Schools is launching a new campaign to help students maintain focus withing the last stretch of the school year.
Show Up and Power Up features an animated message that pushes students to show up and engage in school.
Harry Bell, of the nonprofit Color a Positive Thought, produced the animated message.
Bell is working in partnership with Coach Jamesy Codrington, who works in the field of visual media, to produce the animated campaign.
School officials say the main point of the campaign is to teach students that being in the classroom consistently builds confidence, prevents gaps in knowledge and fosters vital social connections with educators and peers.
