Immigration attorney Mark Bradley says there is an effort underway during National Immigrant Heritage Month to build awareness about a pathway to a getting a green card for anybody younger than 21.
Bradley states that for undocumented youths who've been abandoned or abused by one or both parents, it is especially important during the ongoing crackdown by ICE to raise awareness about the month.
"There are masked men, uninformed, many times unidentified that they're ICE -- so I urge a lot of these children to come out because it's so important that if you do not apply for this benefit before you're 21, you will age out and then would be permanently barred from applying for this relief in the future." He said. "So even though there is an attack on immigration currently, there is help and there are resources available to you."
