Stamford police are asking for the public's help locating a man wanted on an active first-degree escape warrant following a police search and standoff last month.

Police released new images of 27-year-old Damani Morales, who they describe as a convicted felon with gun charges and a history of violent behavior.

Investigators said Morales was questioned during a disturbance call on Sept. 22 and initially gave officers a false name. After police learned his identity, Morales reportedly fled.

Officers later learned Morales had family connections to a home on Rose Park Avenue. When police arrived, they found the door open even though family members said no one was supposed to be there.

Morales remains at large. Police said the photo of him wearing a gray sweatshirt is the most recent image they have.

Anyone with information regarding Morales’ whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Stamford Police Department Crime Stoppers Tip Line 203-977-TIPS (8477).
