Two people are facing charges after a chase this week that stretched across several communities, police said.

Officers first tried stopping a car in Shelton that had already been involved in a pursuit in Milford, where multiple police cruisers were struck. The driver then crashed in Shelton before fleeing into Stratford, cutting across a soccer field at Second Hill Lane Elementary School in an attempt to get away.

The Tuesday chase continued onto Route 8 in Bridgeport and ended when the vehicle became disabled near Exit 19 on I‑95.

Police identified the driver as George Jakubowski, 32, who tried to run even after the car broke down. He faces numerous charges. Officers say passenger Louann Bodnar, 32, refused to get out of the vehicle and was seen smoking something from tin foil; she is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
