The Trumbull Police Department recently welcome a new family member, K-9 Jake.

Jake started patrolling last week with his handler, Officer Caitlin Bachiocchi, and will serve as the department's first wellness K-9.

In his role, Jake will support officer and staff wellness, help reduce stress and create positive community engagement throughout town. He came to the department from from Puppies Behind Bars, an organization that trains people who were incarcerated to raise service dogs for wounded war veterans, first responders and facility dogs for police departments.
