To celebrate Black History Month, Colorful Bridgeport, a non-profit organization, has released its annual guide featuring events people can attend throughout the month.
"One of the most beautiful assets of Bridgeport is its diversity. And naturally, we want to celebrate that," said Lauren Coakley Vincent, president and CEO of Colorful Bridgeport.
The guide also includes a listing of all of the Black-owned businesses and Black-led organizations that people can support.
"We really hope people will come to downtown Bridgeport and enjoy all of the offerings that the neighborhood has in celebration of Black History Month," Coakley Vincent said.
Upcoming events include a book club reading at Kindred Thoughts Bookstore on Friday and a Photowalk on Saturday.
