A threat at Torrington middle and high schools was deemed not credible, school officials say.
Officials were made aware of threats to the campus and students on Wednesday morning.
While police were contacted, the school activated a shelter-in-place.
Officials say that out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to evacuate the school so a thorough inspection could take place and ensure there were no threats against the school or students
All school activities on the campus that were set to take place on Wednesday afternoon and evening were canceled.
School will resume on Thursday as a regular day.
Officials say the situation was isolated to the middle and high school campus and all other schools operated as normal.
