More than 8,000 spectators turned out in Bridgeport Tuesday for a revered local tradition - the Saint Patrick's Day Parade.
"We couldn't believe the size of the crowd today - we've never seen this many people here, and I've been taking part in the event forever," said Brian Turco, of Port 5 National Association of Naval Veterans.
"It says so much about Bridgeport and the great Irish spirit that was on display here today - a day when everybody is Irish," Turco said.
The event started at the Burroughs Community Center and wound down Fairfield Avenue, concluding at The Castle in Black Rock.
