The Fairfield Professional Firefighters Association is hosting a fundraiser Thursday for their Benevolent Fund.

The live auction and raffle will kick off with musical and magical performances at 6 p.m. at the Fairfield Theatre Company on Sanford Street.

Organizers say proceeds will benefit Fairfield firefighters and their families during difficult and unexpected times.

"I think because of the stresses of the job that we have it's important to make sure that we take care of one another. We are a family here," said Matt Pastir, Fairfield firefighter and president of the Benevolent Fund. 

"The financial component is a big deal in everybody's household, so being able to alleviate that burden in times of crisis when those things escalate it really does make a difference in people's lives and especially for their families."

Tickets are available online. Bidding for the live auction is also open online now.
