Following false reports of gunfire that caused chaos and forced the shutdown of McKinley Elementary School's annual fundraiser carnival Friday, Superintendent Mike Testani got the word out Monday about efforts by the McKinley PTA to close the fundraising gap.
"My hope is that we can recoup all the money that was lost," Testani said.
"Many of our students come from just hardworking families - and we want to see them get all of the vital educational support that the school supplies," Testani said.
In past years, McKinley's PTA raised about $50,000 for events like educational field trips, Testani said.
"We hope the public will step up and help, so our students can benefit from the many great activities the school provides," he said.
