DEEP: 2 Stratford residents killed in New Haven Harbor boating accident

The pair were found unresponsive after authorities located a 27-foot vessel on the west breakwall of the harbor Thursday.

Two Stratford residents have been identified as the boaters killed in an accident in the New Haven Harbor Thursday, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says.
DEEP Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police say 64-year-old Cynthia Ferk and 67-year-old Floyd Maxson were found dead in the harbor following the accident.
They were found out of the vessel and on the breakwall. Neither were wearing a life jacket, officials say.
The pair were found unresponsive after authorities located a 27-foot vessel on the west breakwall of the harbor Thursday. EnCon police responded to the accident at 5:20 p.m. at the west jetty in the harbor. Earlier in the day, the U.S. Coast Guard had received a report of an overdue vessel that matched the vessel involved in the accident.
DEEP EnCon are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
