Mikaelle Rosw, 36, of Fairfield set her own home on fire at 188-186 Castle Ave. on Thursday.
Upon investigation, witnesses reported that the homeowner intentionally set fire to the outside of her home before fleeing in a vehicle.
Police quickly located the vehicle and arrested Rosw. She was charged with Arson in the Third Degree and is scheduled to appear in court today.
According to police, the residence was engulfed in smoke and flames.
It took multiple crews from the Fairfield Fire Department to extinguish the blaze.
This was the third fire in Fairfield that day. Crews also responded to a vehicle fire and a brush fire.
