A driver is recovering after a crash in Fairfield that left a utility pole damaged outside a gas station.

Police say the collision happened Tuesday night at the intersection of Brentwood Avenue and Kings Highway, where a single vehicle slammed into the pole.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and has since been released, according to police.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
