A renewed call for federal action is being made as prices rise during the Iran war.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal is urging the Trump administration to clamp down on what he says is profiteering driven by the conflict.

“We know that food prices are increasing as a result of this Iran war,” Blumenthal said. “But profiteering and price-fixing can be stopped before the big food conglomerates exploit them if the Trump Department of Justice will crack down on them.”

Blumenthal said he has written demanding action.

He said multiple sectors, from energy to the medical industry, are unfairly jacking up prices.
