Some big changes are going into effect on Metro-North’s Waterbury branch in just a few weeks.

Due to renovations, the branch’s train lines will soon be replaced with buses.

The changes will start on July 20 and run through May 31, 2027.

The upgrades will be happening at the Derby-Shelton, Ansonia, Beacon Falls and Seymour stations.

Department of Transportation officials say the buses will substitute throughout the week, but that buses will operate earlier than schedule trains.
