A Bridgeport man was arrested for allegedly possessing narcotics, according to the East Haven Police Department.

Police took 26-year-old Candace Rogers into custody Saturday after officers watched him engage in what appeared to be a drug deal at a Stop & Shop parking lot on Hemingway Avenue in East Haven.

The EHPD says officers found a large quantity of narcotics inside his car as well as a digital scale, packaging materials, two cell phone and a large sum of cash following Rogers' arrest.

Officers seized around 125 grams of suspected fentanyl, 67.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 36.4 grams of suspected powder cocaine, according to officials.

The arrest stemmed from a prior investigation by EHPD Detectives and Patrol Officers as well as DEA and FBI Task Force Officers.

Rogers is charged with three counts of sale of narcotics, three counts of possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.

The EHPD says he was released on a $150,000 surety bond and is expected to appear in court on Aug. 19.
