Hawleyville Fire crews responded to two separate incidents hours apart on Thursday, beginning with a tractor‑trailer rollover on I‑84 westbound.

The first call came in around 2:15 a.m. Hawleyville Fire, Newtown Ambulance and paramedics were dispatched to the highway, where crews worked to control a fuel spill.

A second call came in around 2:30 p.m. for a car fire on Mount Pleasant Road. Newtown Hook & Ladder and Hawleyville Fire responded, and crews brought the fire under control quickly.
