The family of Robert Lynch, a Marine Corps veteran and newspaper handler, says they received medical bills for an appointment he never had - and one that occurred after he died.

Lynch died of heart failure at his Greenwich home over Halloween weekend.

The Summit Health Cardiopulmonary Center in White Plains confirmed the last time Lynch was seen was in September, but the family says they were sent bills for appointments after that.

His daughter, Valerie Lagana, says they called the billing department and when they weren't able to help, the family visited the corporate office in Rye Brook to no avail.

They decided to Turn To Tara for help, and once the team contacted Summit Health, the response was quick. They reviewed the death certificate, removed the charges and brought the balance to zero.

Lynch's widow says the relief was about more than money.

"We thought it was impossible. Nobody could help us, but you did. So, we thank you very much. It's just a big a big heartache off the shoulders," she said.
