Three people were injured and two families were displaced after a three-alarm fire at the Oakwood Place condominiums in Stamford on Thursday night.

Firefighters responded to Myano Lane at 7:55 p.m. after multiple 911 callers reported a fully involved fire. Crews arrived to find heavy flames coming from a middle unit in a seven-unit building and quickly struck second and third alarms as the fire spread into the attic.

More than 50 firefighters responded and were able to contain the blaze to the unit where it started, preventing it from spreading to neighboring units. The fire caused extensive damage to that unit, while two adjacent units sustained significant smoke and water damage. One of those units was unoccupied.

One resident suffered minor fire-related injuries, another experienced a medical emergency, and a firefighter was also injured. All three were taken to Stamford Hospital for evaluation.

The fire was brought under control just before 9 p.m. The cause remains under investigation by the Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office.
