The state has refiled charges against Raul Valle in connection with the 2022 stabbing that left 17-year-old Jimmy McGrath dead and three others injured.
Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Marc Durso filed an amended information charging Valle with first-degree reckless manslaughter in McGrath’s death. The filing alleges Valle “recklessly engaged in conduct which created a grave risk of death.”
The amended charges also include reckless assault counts for injuries sustained by Ryan Heinz, Tommy Connery and Faison Teele during the same incident.
Valle was acquitted last week of the most serious charges, including murder, following a jury trial. However, the jury was unable to reach a verdict on four other charges, which the state has now refiled.
Valle remains free without bond. As of Monday, the case was not listed on the state judicial system’s website, and it remains unclear when it will next be heard in court.
