Fairfield’s police chief is preparing to retire after more than two decades of service.
Chief Robert Kalamaras will step down next Wednesday, ending a 25-year career with the Fairfield Police Department.
Kalamaras has served as chief for the past four years.
Town officials say an internal search is underway for his replacement, with a decision expected to be announced on July 17 — one day after Kalamaras' final shift.
