A Stamford nonprofit announced Saturday the winner of a sweepstakes raffle to win a new Porsche from a Fairfield dealership and Penske Automotive.
The Piston Foundation provides a variety of services to future automotive technicians, like tuition assistance and scholarships.
The giveaway raffle was part of that help, raising over $323,000.
"Being able to spend more time in the lab doing the work on the cars and, of course, this is a skill that's learned by hand. So if you're not doing the work, you're not learning. So making sure that kids, through our scholarships, have more time to be in the lab, more time to work on the cars, means their education is more meaningful," said Jeff Mason, president and COO of the Piston Foundation.
