A Stamford man paused on Sunday to remember his brother nine years after he was shot to death in Bridgeport.
Wilner Joseph visited the site of his brother's murder at McLevy Green in Bridgeport, where he vowed to continue advocating against gun violence in his brother's memory.
"I'm passionate about this mission I'm on to help prevent other families from enduring the kind of nightmare that's plagued me and my mother -- and our whole family -- for nine heartbreaking years," Joseph said.
Max Antoine, 33, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting on April 20, 2017.
"One of the most important things I have done in my brother's memory is advocate -- which is exactly what I'll be doing Monday at Harding High School, where the principal has invited me to share my family's story with high school students there," Joseph said. "That's the greatest legacy I think my brother ever can have -- to become the symbol of peace and positive advocacy."
