The Connecticut Office of the inspector General released a report Wednesday that has cleared two West Haven police officers of any wrongdoing in a 2023 fatal officer-involved shooting.
Police were called to a home on Terrace Avenue on Dec. 1 following a domestic dispute.
A woman told police that Jovan Washington attempted to strangle her.
Officers tried to arrest Washington.
Body cam video that was released days after the shooting showed that Washington grabbed a gun and shot Officer Cody Bacon in the leg.
After that altercation, Officer Alex Triscritti fired three shots and then a fourth after Washington refused to let go of his weapon, even though he was shot.
Washington died at the hospital, according to authorities.
