A man is facing numerous charges following a raid at a Bridgeport smoke shop, police say.
On May 29, the Bridgeport Police Department's Narcotics and Vice Division, the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection's Drug Control Division and three other city departments executed a search and seizure warrant at Dice Convenience Smoke Shop on Main Street.
Officers seized more than 23 pounds of cannabis and THC-related products along with $654, which they believe were the profits from the illegal sales of those items.
Police say the prepackaged cannabis products tested positive for the presence of fentanyl.
Amin Mohamed Algahiem was arrested at the store. His charges include conspiracy to commit possession with intent to distribute 1 kg or more of cannabis, conspiracy to commit operation of a drug factory, possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit the sale of a narcotic substance.
Algahiem's bond was set at $50,000.
Following the operation, the Bridgeport Health and Buildings Departments issued stop-work orders at the store for onsite violations.
