A hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck shut down part of I-95 north in Darien Tuesday and left one person with serious injuries, state police say.

The Department of Transportation says the crash happened around 7 a.m. between exits 11 and 12 on the northbound side of the highway.

Police say the pickup truck left the scene and are asking for the public's help locating the vehicle. Investigators believe it is a dark-colored pickup truck with a missing side-view mirror and damage consistent with a sideswipe crash.

The highway was closed at Exit 12 for several hours.

State police say the left and center lanes reopened just before 12:30 p.m. The right lane reopened just after 2 p.m.

Anyone who was traveling near Exit 12 and or the Northbound Darien Service Plaza between 6:40 a.m. and 6:50 a.m. who may have video evidence or a vehicle with dash camera is asked to contact state police at 203-696-2500.
