Crystal Corzo is on a mission.
Her 10-year-old son, Leo, was hit by a car last week at Harral and Park avenues in the Hollow.
Now she's circulating a petition to get speed bumps installed.
"Leo only sprained his ankle, but he could easily have been killed - and we have to do something," she said.
A police report shows the fourth grader at Curiale School was crossing the street when a driver ran a stop sign and struck him.
Corzo said she's also been injured in accidents in the neighborhood.
"I was hit by a car when I was crossing the street here back in 2022, and two other people were killed in accidents here," she said.
Mayor Joe Ganim met with Corzo at her home Wednesday, saying he will help her ask the City Council for speed bumps.
"I'm gonna' ask the council members to get the signatures for potential speed bumps here - and we need to get the permission and if we can put them in, we're going to put them in," Ganim said.
