First United Church of Christ Congregational in Milford kicked off its annual Rock-a-Thon fundraiser on Saturday.

Youth groups stayed awake for 24 hours in rocking chairs to raise money for Avery's Little Army and local animal shelters.

The fundraising tradition has been apart of the church for over 45 years.
