An elderly man died in an overnight house fire on Hallock Street Tuesday night.
According to police, the man lived with another person who was able to escape.
Bridgeport fire chief says the home was older and did not have smoke detectors.
Firefighters remain on scene at the Hallock Street fire, which broke out around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Crews continued working through the night to control hot spots and secure the structure.
