Connecticut State Police say they arrested a man for pointing an illegal gun at a woman during a road rage incident in Westport.
Nicholas Alexander Dagostino, 27, of Maine, is accused of threatening the woman just before 7 a.m. Thursday on Route 15 Southbound near Exit 20. According to police, a small child was inside the woman's car during the incident.
Authorities say Dagostino was driving a red Honda sedan when he brake checked the woman before he pulled up his car up next to hers. That's when he allegedly took out a gun and pointed it at the woman for several seconds.
Troopers tracked down Dagastino's Honda on Route 15 Southbound south of Exit 13 in Stamford, according to police.
Dagostino admitted he had a firearm under the driver seat of his car and claimed he only waved the holster at the woman, authorities say.
During the trooper's search of the vehicle, they found more than the gun, which was loaded with a 12-round magazine - with one round missing. According to police, they also found multiple bags of psilocybin mushrooms.
Dagostino faces a slew of charges which include threatening, two counts of reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a pistol without a permit, illegal possession of a high capacity magazine and possession of a controlled substance.
Authorities say Dagostino posted 7% of his $25,000 cash bond.
He is expected to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 3.
