Hispanic Heritage Month may be ending but that's not stopping the city of Bridgeport from celebrating.
It was a night of music, food and culture at the Margaret Morton Government Center Friday night. "We're feeding the people with our culture and our history and ensuring we keep these traditions alive here in the city of Bridgeport, " says councilwoman Aidee Nieves.
Bridgeport’s Hispanic heritage committee organized the event. it featured live performances, speakers and art. the city even honored a handful of people with awards.
"That is the uniqueness of being in the United States of America," Nieves says. "You can be Hispanic, you can be who you are, speak your language, and still remain true to who you really are."
