ALERTS:
Heat advisory from 11 a.m. Monday until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
This week's weather is a rollercoaster. The first few days start with a stretch of extreme heat. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be mostly sunny, hot, humid and hazy. Smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to funnel into the area, and the high pressure controlling the forecast won't let it settle elsewhere. This could impact air quality.
Tuesday will be the hottest day of the stretch, as it will feel like almost 105 by the afternoon.
A cold front is forecasted to cross the tri-state region Thursday, bringing the chance for storms and showers that could start late Wednesday. Behind the front, the weather changes drastically.
August looks to start on a cooler note with temperatures in the upper-70s and low-80s into the weekend.
