Police say they have received reports of residents who have been contacted by scammers who claim they have missed jury duty and must pay a fine to police.
They are reminding people that no legitimate government agency would ever ask for a payment over the phone.
Anyone who receives one of these calls should not provide any personal or financial information and immediately hang up.
