More Rite Aid stores across the country are closing after the store filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Monroe has two Rite Aid Pharmacies: one on Main Street and another one across town on Monroe Turnpike.
There's a large yellow banner at the Main Street location with black lettering saying "Store Closing." A large "Everything Must Go!" 60% off sale sign is in the window and lawn signs announcing the closing are around the parking lot.
Rite Aid has already closed stores in Milford, Danbury and Norwalk. By the end of this month, Rite Aid will have just nine locations left in Connecticut. More stores will be closing in Brookfield and Ridgefield.
