A person floating in the Norwalk River was rescued Sunday by the Norwalk Fire Department.
Crews responded after a 911 call on Commerce Street. Officials did not name the victim, only saying it was a “female floating in the water.”
A release from the fire department described the rescue:
“Firefighters in cold water suits entered the water and were able to successfully grab the victim and maneuver her towards the shore. Firefighters were able to remove her from the water up the rock covered embankment into a stokes basket.”
The rescued person was admitted to Norwalk Hospital. Details surrounding her condition were not immediately available.
