The South End of Bridgeport will soon be home to 51 new units of "high-end affordable housing," according to an announcement Mayor Joe Ganim made Wednesday.
"In partnership with the Bridgeport Housing Authority and JHM Group, we will be breaking ground on Windward Apartments, Phase 2, in August," Ganim told News 12.
The new complex will go up next to the first phase of Windward Apartments, which was built on Park Avenue in 2021, Ganim said.
"We are so excited about this major new development," said Jillian Baldwin, CEO of Park City Communities.
"We're celebrating because this complex will be just the latest phase of development for affordable housing communities going up all over the city," Baldwin said.
The $30 million project will take about a year to build, she said.
