An unusual incident in New Canaan on Tuesday as a man drove his car into the Waveny Park swimming pool.
Police say it happened around 10:30 a.m. and the pool was closed at the time.
They say the man was attempting to park his car but accelerated through a set of trees and the pool perimeter fence. He then drove into the pool.
Lifeguards, police and dive teams were able to get the man out of the vehicle. A crane was brought in to lift the vehicle out of the pool.
Town officials say the pool will need to be drained and remains closed.
No one was injured but the driver was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
