The Alpha Community Services YMCA in Bridgeport serves as a support center for the homeless within the greater Bridgeport area.
The YMCA says they were at capacity since they opened the shelter in November and have been housing more than 200 people in need.
Officials stated that things have been challenging and that federal housing changes have been impacting their services.
