Newly released body cam video shows the terrifying moments Bridgeport police officers were apparently shot at during a street-fight-turned-armed-standoff in the city.
It happened at a multifamily house on Grand Street early Wednesday morning.
Police were following 53-year-old Roberto Martins after a fight broke on the street.
Video appears to show Martins firing several gunshots at officers through a side door of the building.
One of the officers returned fire, but no one was hurt.
Martins eventually surrendered to police.
He's facing multiple charges, including attempted murder.
"These patrol officers acted heroically," Detective Jeffrey Holtz said in a statement. "The department never wants to have an incident in which guns are discharged. However, if it occurs, this is the outcome we want - nobody injured and the suspect arrested and charged."
The inspector general will continue to investigate and decide if the officers were justified.
