A man died in a single-car crash on an Interstate 84 entrance ramp in Waterbury, state police said.

Everaldo De Oliveria was driving on the Exit 23 ramp just before midnight on Saturday when he hit a metal guardrail on the right shoulder. He then crossed over the Hamilton Avenue intersection and struck a concrete traffic barrier.

De Oliveria died at the scene from his injuries.
