A former tech consultant from Shelton has been sentenced to prison after federal prosecutors say he sabotaged a client's computer network and stole money from the business.
Prosecutors say 47-year-old Billie Conley Jr. was hired to set up a computer system for a funeral business but secretly installed software that allowed him to remotely access the network.
Authorities say Conley repeatedly disabled the system, disrupting business operations. Prosecutors also say he used the company's bank account to make more than $9,000 in payments.
Conley was sentenced to nine months in prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud.
