WX ALERTS: Coastal Flood Advisory tonight 11 p.m. - 3 a.m.

After four straight days of sweltering 90-degree heat — some of which broke records — some relief is on the way. Yesterday, Bridgeport hit a scorching 97 degrees just before 3 p.m. That ties the all-time record for the hottest June day, a mark we haven’t seen since June 9, 2008!

Today, a cold front is sliding south, bringing more clouds, some rain, and a noticeable drop in temperatures. Winds will shift onshore, helping to keep things cooler today and tomorrow, with highs only in the 70s. It’ll also be breezy, with gusts up to 20 mph. There’s a chance for showers and thunderstorms, and with some heavier downpours possible, watch out for localized or nuisance flooding during the morning commute.

Friday looks even cooler, with highs dipping into the low 70s.

But don’t get too comfortable—this front will lift back north as a warm front over the weekend, sending temperatures climbing again. Expect highs back in the 80s, along with a chance for more showers and storms on Saturday.

Sunday stays mostly cloudy, but the warmth sticks around.
