State lawmakers are pushing for multiple bills that would give tax breaks to Connecticut residents.
State Sen. Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox says there are a number of bills that are coming through to the General Assembly that she hopes will pass all the way and get signed into law. The bills include new tax credits that she adds will be critical for families.
"A tax credit for children, up to three in the household, a tax credit for renters, a tax credit for commuters, a tax credit for those caring for the elderly in their homes, and also relief for seniors to be exempt from Social Security taxes," Gadkar-Wilcox elaborated.
She says the bipartisan bills enjoy strong support in both the House and Senate. Gov. Ned Lamont would be expected to sign those that reach his desk.
