Fire officials say 17 students and staff safely escaped an early Tuesday morning dorm fire at Cheshire Academy.
Officials say the fire started in Hurley Hall dorm shortly after 4 a.m. on a second-floor advisor's room.
The school officials say dorm residents were temporarily relocated to the JJ White auditorium and Gideon Welles Dining Commons, and counseling services are available.
