An 18-year-old high school graduate in Ridgefield has died, officials say. Brandon Gmelin was killed in an apparent landscaping accident in South Salem, New York. Police saying Gmelin was attempting to move a log splitter when it started to roll down a hill striking the teen. Gmelin was a lacrosse star and posts from the school's social media accounts say he had been planning to play lacrosse at Dickinson College.
