Norwalk police introduced a new certified law enforcement support K-9 today.
K-9 Chance and his handler, Officer Phil Taborda, put in hundreds of hours training over the last three months.
Officers say Chance's job is to promote the health and well-being of law enforcement officers and serve as a bridge between the department and the community.
"Chance will play a vital role in strengthening the department's connection to the people of Norwalk," said Norwalk Police Chief James Walsh. "K-9 Chance will be a visible presence at all community functions, school visits and departmental events offering a friendly face and calming influence wherever he goes."
Chance is 16 months old and was donated by Maxine and Kenneth Maiocco of Fairfield.
