The August at Steelpointe Harbor is a massive waterfront apartment community starting to take shape on the edge of downtown Bridgeport.
"When Phase 1 is completed next spring, there will be 420 apartments here - and though most of them will be market-rate, some will be affordable housing," Mayor Joe Ganim told News 12 Tuesday.
"When the entire complex is built, it will be home to about 1,200 apartments - and that's massive. No other city in New England has a waterfront development this big and this impressive," Ganim said.
Denita Waiters is an affordable housing advocate who lives in Bridgeport.
"I'm encouraging the developer to include as many affordable housing units as possible because we desperately need them here in Bridgeport," Waiters said.
