An Irish court Thursday found a man not guilty by reason of insanity in the murder of his father who lived in New Canaan. A court ruled that Henry McGowan suffered from schizoaffective disorder when he strangled John McGowan at a resort near Dublin in 2024. John McGowan had flown over to help his son after he found out Henry McGowan had suffered from mental breakdown. Henry will be back in court Feb. 20 where a judge will hear evidence about a proposed treatment program for him.
